Dry Fire Pistol Fundamentals: This 4-hour workshop would be ideal for people wanting to ease their way into shooting.  As well, any of us that spend time doing correct dry-fire drills KNOW how valuable it is, and how much it improves our shooting.  Shooting from 5 yards, do you get all your hits on an 8 1/2 X 11 piece of paper, but not all in the 9 and 10 ring? You will benefit from correct dry fire exercise.  Proper dry fire practice will take you to a new level of marksmanship.

 

One of the key elements of marksmanship is trigger control.  You will learn dry fire drills to dramatically improve your trigger dicipline.  Next is sight picture in relation to your trigger pull, and we move on from there.

 

We will discuss personal safety, gun safety, range etiquite, gun handling, loading/un-loading, malfunctions, marksmanship fundamentals, trigger control drills, drawing from a holster and learning the perfect presentation.  We will also discuss the roll of a hand gun as a defensive tool, and other self defense topics.

 

This course tuition is $50, and it includes a set of high quality Snap Caps to use in class and take home after.  Please make a note of your handgun caliber when registering, 9mm, .40 S&W, .45ACP, etc..

 

Class requirements:  Preferably your every day carry firearm, holster, and at least 2 magazines.  Loaner equipment is available.

Next Step Defensive Pistol course:  This course is designed to take a new concealed firearm permit holders to the next level of competency with their firearm. We cover defensive gun handling, drawing and shooting from concealment, re-loads and malfunction drills, combat accuracy and environmental awareness. We train real world shooting scenarios, and introduce moving while shooting as well as cornering and shoot/no-shoot drills, and more!  This is also a great class for more experienced shooters to maintain and hone your skills.

Classes are held at the Hendrickson Range. The PMAA (Hendrickson) Range in Parleys Canyon (I80), Exit 134 (UT-65 N to East Canyon) (map), Utah.   The class will be limited to 20 students on a first come first served basis.  The cost will be $100. and $50 will hold your spot in the class.

Advanced Defensive Pistol:  *Pre-requisite* to this class is a successfully completed Next Step class, or equivelant all day defensive pistol course.  If you are un-sure if you qualify for this course please contact us.

This course picks up where the Next Step course leaves off.  We will work on advanced skills introduced in Next Step.  The focus of this class is MOVEMENT to save your life in a GUNFIGHT! We introduce timers to induce stress and push students to master their pistol manipulation skills.  We work to find your individual balance of speed and accuracy.  We show you, and you will learn, one-hand/support-hand only, re-loads and malfunction drills, pistol manipulations in un-conventional positions and using un-conventional methods.  We will push you to think outside of the box to master your respective weapon system.  You will draw and shoot on the move, re-load and fix malfunctions while moving to cover.  We teach multiple shooting positions, transitions, multiple adversaries, and shooting in a 360 degree environment.  You will learn how to use angles to take back the advantage in a fight. We cover flashlight techniques and running the gun in the dark.  The fee for this course is $100.

Ladies Only!  We will be offering a Next Step course for you ladies only on Saturday, Sept. 10th, 2011 at 9:00 am.   This class will also be held at the Hendrickson range (map).  See directions above.  Same course material, but without the boys around to slow you down!  This does not mean  the girls are not welcome to attend either class, but some of you ladies have requested a class 'just for the girls'.  We are happy to oblige.
